Masterbuilt Butterball Professional Series Indoor Electric Turkey Fryer

{fried turkey}

There are many ways that you an cook a turkey. You can roast it or rotisserie it, but one of the best ways to cook a turkey is deep fried. Now, let's break that down a little more. You have the propane turkey fryer. With that one, you need to be sure that your insurance policy is up to date. Yes, my husband set our deck on fire one windy spring day. It didn't take long, the wind was whipping, the fire under the pot was burning and he lowered the turkey in the pot just a little too fast. The kids loved it. A recipe for complete disaster. Raise your hand if you have been there.

Another way to cook a turkey is using an electric deep fryer. There are a few really good ones available, but most of them require a lot of oil and you have to use them outside. They do a good job, but add up the extra oil needed throughout the year and it can be really expensive. This is where the Masterbuilt Butterball Professional Indoor Electric Turkey Fryer enters the scene. It uses one third less oil than other turkey fryers, you can use it inside and it does a fantastic job.

We use ours for a lot of different things. We really love having football parties. My son-in-law can eat his weight in Buffalo Wings, Mozzarella sticks, shrimp and french fries. I do the wings first, french fries second to clarify the oil, Mozzarella sticks next and then the shrimp. The second round I add another batch of fries at the end to clarify the oil again and it's ready for the next use. Just let the oil cool down, pour it back into your bottles that the oil came in and put it in the refriegerator until you're ready to use it again. Always add about a cup of fresh oil when you're reusing the oil from the last batch to "freshen" it up a little. Also, remember to take the oil out of the refrigerator about two hours before you're going to put it in the fryer to give it time to become liquid again.

There are so many things you can use this fryer for. When the kids and their families are coming over, we plan the menu around things that we can deep fry simply because we can prepare large quantities of food quickly and it tastes great.
